Greetings from Argentina:

First, a big thanks to the LADAC and all the hard-working individuals who hosted this year's Congress in Argentina. I would especially like to thank Carlos Cranbourne and others who did a tremendous job in attending to the hundreds of details typically required.

Villa La Angostura is a beautiful village nestled between snow-capped mountain peaks. Most of the hotels and cabins reside right alongside a beautiful lake front. Sometimes, the temperature in mid-day was enough for sunbathers to appear. Yet, it often got close to 0 degrees (C) at night.

The generosity and hospitality has been overwhelming. Although this is my first congress, every delegate and attendee has gone out of their way to make me feel warm and welcome. Despite some heated discussions and opinions, I always felt the Amici Sumus flavor wafting through the entire conference.

All throughout Congress, I was often overwhelmed with the vast amount of knowledge and spirit the members have brought to this Congress from across the globe. The amount of work, effort, and planning these people have gone through is incredible--and all on a volunteer status. It makes me proud to be a member of this fine organization and renews my purpose for doing the absolute best job I can for my customers.

With regards to my new duties, I am busy formulating transition plans and overall operational plans. It will be important to coordinate thoroughly with our new president Med and the EB to ensure the proper direction and compliance with Congress´ wishes. I have already received many offers for assistance and will certainly capitalize on experienced and willing volunteers make the FD office and DE program an unqualified success.

I am heading off for the long journey home -- tired, yet stangely excited at the prospects of interfacing with many excellent people across the globe - all interested in one thing - fine correspondence chess for players at all levels.

Amici sumus,
Michael Millstone
