My photo walk of 8 May 2009

8 May 2009

Discouragement! Yesterday my weight was up, and today it was still the same high weight. I must get going in the right direction again. I wasn't too bad eating today, but I decided I needed to get out and walk again, so I was off on a 52-minute walk (with some pauses to take photos). Yesterday I did the treadmill for 40 minutes ... tough work but I anticipated the payoff this morning with a drop in weight. Oh, well, maybe my walk today will help. At any rate, it was a beautiful day and I walked through a (to me) new neighborhood. There were many flowering trees and beauty everywhere. These walks, while they can be hard work, are certainly giving me much pleasure. If you need to exercise try walking through your neighborhoods. Even when I don't take photos I am always looking for the photogenic. This makes "seeing" things a normal occurrence for me.

Check the large version of the first photo, taken with the G9's Macro setting at F8.0. Not only is the dandelion sharp but you can see what the out of focus background looks like with this sort of photo. I don't care much for the appearance, so next time I'll try a larger aperture setting to throw the background more out of focus.
