My photo walk of 11 June 2010 |
11 June 2010 40 minute walk. Today I turned to a destination I've been thinking about for a long time. One night I was walking in a random direction and discovered that East Sycamore Street had a break in it, where the level changed dramatically. Although the street itself has a break the walker can keep going, with an interesting zig-zag sidewalk providing the big change in level. My photos start in my own backyard and lead to the Sycamore Street break, where I took numerous photos. More photos on the way home complete the collection. I have a garden area behind my garage. Over the winter my fence developed a big gap. The garden is completely overgrown and there is at least one family of rabbits living in it. Across the alley from my house I noticed an interesting detail on a garage. Just down the street I spotted an interesting set of meters on a house. |

Recalling my recent visit to the Ingham County Drain Commission I noted this drain ... no green paint spot. I reached the intersection of S. Rogers Street and E. Sycamore Street, my destination. |
Going east on Sycamore I came to the break in the road. Here are some views approaching the zig-zag sidewalk leading up the incline to the continuation of Sycamore Street. |
I took photos as I continued up the zig-zag sidewalk. |
Here is the top of the zig-zag sidewalk on East Sycamore Street. As I topped the sidewalk I came out on top with this interesting view of a red bus. |
I took a look back at this view of the lower level of the street. Then I continued on along the upper branch of Sycamore Street. On my right I spotted the parking lot, bus and building of the First Church of the Nazarene. |
Close-up of the red church bus. After passing Matthews Street on the left I turned and took a photo towards the west. Then I continued east on Sycamore to the next street Steele Street. Sycamore curves south onto Steele Street. |
Here are several photos of the First Church of the Nazarene building. |
Some nice views along Steele Street and on Maple Street. |
Another nice house on Maple Street and some photos of the First Church of the Nazarene, which is situated between Maple Street and Sycamore Street. |
Another house that caught my eye, mainly due to the bright blue shutters on the windows and door. The yard is held back by this attractive stone wall. A driveway with two piles ... dirt (with grass starting to grow on it) and wood chips. |
