Down Home Days in Mason - 17 September 2011 |
Down Home Days in Mason Down Home Days ends summer in Mason just as Spring Fling begins the summer season. Vendor stands surround the Ingham County Courthouse in downtown Mason where people can buy various items, many made by small business crafters. Food, public information and entertainment are all available. I always find the baked goods provided by the church ladies particularly difficult to resist. In addition, the regular Saturday Farmers Market is at the same location from 9am to 1pm. I walked down town with the Olympus PEN E-PL2 camera stapped to my belt with my new Panasonic 20/1.7 lens attached. It was an overcast day, so I upped the ISO to 400 and set the lens wide open. It appears I am use to the 14-42 kit lens and 14-150 lens, which have small maximum apertures, so I wound up taking a number of photos with very high shutter speeds. After noticing the 1/4000 and 1/2000 second exposures I decreased the ISO to 200 and closed the aperture down a bit. This is why I got this new lens, to be able to use faster shtter speeds and ISO settings. It seems my plan worked! Click on any photo to see a larger version in a popup window |
