6 May 2014 - Walking with my ultra-wide zoom |
6 May 2014 - Walking with my ultra-wide zoom After dinner my BG number was up to 130, not normally high enough to cause me to take an exercise walk to lower it immediately, but high enough to make me think of walking, and with this great Spring weather I grabbed my camera and took off for an hour's walk around Mason. Without too much emphasis on the "exercise" part of walking I decided to focus on the photos I could take with a single lens, namely my Olympus 9-18 superwide zoom. Since I use a micro four thirds camera, the Olympus PEN E-PL5 in this case, this lens is the equivalent of a 18-36 full frame 35mm camera. The bulk of the following photos show some of the strengths of a wide angle by including a close-up subject plus some distant material. It turned into a fun walk, plus I did get some valuable exercise. I recommend trying this to all my photographer friends. Focus on exploiting the virtues of a limited choice of equipment from time to time to exercise your creativity. Click on any photo to see a larger version in a popup window. |
