13 June 2015 - Maple Street

Today I went on an exercise walk with my wife, primarily on Maple Street. I saw so many interesting houses and other things that I decided to go back with my camera. It was also a fine opportunity to try out my new Rokinon 7.5mm F3.5 fisheye lens.

Some road work has been underway on East Maple Street by Laylin Park and the First Church of the Nazarene. Among the other things, a sign I saw directing people to the church for a wedding made me think of taking photos. There are lots of fine looking houses in Mason, which also inspires my photography. You'll see lots of photos of houses on my web pages. That's why the past on West Ash Street is so long.

The above sign caught my attention: "Road open for wedding".
There seems to be a lot of sidewalks with paint marks. They appear to be indicators for sidewalk slabs to be replaced due to damage.

After removing asbestos and other contaminants from the former Inco Graphics plant at 222 W. Ash Street the building was removed. Work is now being done to prepare the area for construction of the 25,000 square foot headquarters of the Dart Bank headquarters. I found the construction site photographically interesting. Below is the railroad tracks leading north from Maple street past the Mason Elevator Co.

Above is the Sycamore Creek facing south with Lee Austin Park on the left bank. There follows a number of the beautiful homes of Mason on Maple Street.

The new auto parts building is being constructed on Cedar Street across from the end of Maple Street.
