30 July 2015 - Photo Walk in Charlotte with Olympus 14-150 I lens |
30 July 2015 - Photo Walk in Charlotte, Michigan My wife and I drove about 25 miles to Charlotte, MI pretty much due west of Mason. We took two photo walks, one before lunch and the one after lunch. The following photos don't actually document the town but rather are my artistic selection from the 160 photos I capture. There are many interesting sites to see and beautiful buildings/houses. Sidewalks were generally available making the walking easy. It was a sunny day with harsh shadows. The Olympus 14-150 (the original version, not the newest weather sealed version) is a good all-around lens making it easy to photograph all day without changing lenses. You can judge for yourself if the quality is good enough. I have found it quite satisfactory for my uses. Below are thumbnail images of a larger size than I usually post here. This is an experiment, but using larger thumbnails seems a good idea, making it possible to see detail in the photos, perhaps enough so that clicking through to see the larger images won't be necessary for many viewers. Note that all images here were taken using the Olympus OM-D E-M1 camera hand held using the in-camera stablization. Taking advice from posters on the DPReview.com web site I used a higher ISO to insure faster shutter speeds to avoid camera motion on the higher telephoto focal length settings. I applied moderate sharpening to all the photos during the resizing process. Click on any photo to see a larger version in a popup window. |
