Hello! I'm 56 years old and employed as an accountant with the local government authority. Married to Catherine, we live in Glenrothes (a town of about 40,000 souls, just under half of that in Green Bay) in east central Scotland, north of Edinburgh and not far from St. Andrews where they play golf. I've played corr. chess for some 30 years with little success (although I did gain the IM title in 1995 and hold part-qualification for the SIM title) but much pleasure. Over the years I've held numerous positions within both the Scottish CCA and ICCF. I don't play much otb these days but my highest rating was about 2200 in the days when I played congresses regularly - nowadays I've slipped to about 2000 - in corr. chess my highest rating was about 2400.

My football (soccer) team is Raith Rovers FC, the local team from nearby Kirkcaldy where I used to live - the UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown is also a supporter! In the English Premiership I have a liking for West Ham United. My NFL team is the Green Bay Packers, the team of Vince Lombardi, Bart Starr and (until recently) Brett Favre (!) Why do I support the Packers? - they are the only team not from a big city and also the only team not owned by some billionaire - despite this they've won 12 NFL titles (more than any other team!).
